The Australian Wine Research Institute
The Australian Wine Research Institute aims to deliver excellence throughout its research, development and extension activities to advance the competitive edge of the Australian wine industry. The Institute has four specific aims:
- Carry out applied research in the field of oenology
- Service the extension needs of winemakers of Australia
- Be involved in the teaching of oenology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Assume responsibility for the coordination of oenological activities, and the collection, collation and dissemination of information on oenological and viticultural research to the benefit of the Australian wine industry.
The Institute, incorporated in 1955, is situated on the Waite Campus of the University of Adelaide at Urrbrae in the Adelaide foothills.
